Recently the public was again saddened by the discovery of a dead sea turtle from a fishing hook. The turtle is found on Boracay Island, Philippines.
Previously, when found the turtle was still alive but was already in a weak condition.
This sad news is uploaded by Malay city government marine biologist Haron Deo Vargas via Facebook.
Vargas said that female turtles suffered serious injuries to reach internal organs.
"Green liquid, blood coming out every poor turtle sighed," said Vargas.
The turtle was found floating by one of the coastal residents with the weak condition and fishing hook stuck in his body.
The female turtle was brought to the mainland to then release the deadly fishing hook.
But apparently, removing the hook directly is a pretty fatal step.
"This is a bad idea because it will move the wound and endanger it," said Vargas.
Eventually, Vargas was called, and turtles were taken to the care center at Crown Regency Resort by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
